Maureen Bernard Joins First Choice Loan Services Inc., A Berkshire Bank Company

MIDDLETON, MA (February 26, 2018) – New Jersey-based residential mortgage lender First Choice Loan Services Inc., a Berkshire Bank Company announces the addition of Maureen Bernard as senior loan originator based in Middlesex county in Massachusetts.

Having served in residential mortgage lending since 1981, Bernard worked as vice president at Danvers Bank for more than 31 years before joining Reading Cooperative Bank as its vice president/residential lending officer. Immediately prior to joining First Choice Loan Services, Bernard was with loanDepot.

Bernard made this professional move for several reasons.

“I have had the privilege of serving the North Shore area for over 36 years, and during this time, I’ve developed a keen knowledge of the trends and needs of the home buying market in Essex and Middlesex counties. Through my commitment to provide the highest customer service, I’ve also built strong relationships with my homebuyers and homeowners,” said Bernard. “Because of these important relationships and my dedication to ensuring my clients receive a worry-free mortgage experience, it was important for me to choose a mortgage company that shows strength and stability while offering boutique-style service, and I found that with First Choice Loan Services. With the company’s backing from Berkshire Bank, its wide-array of loan products in combination with its core values and culture, I’m confident this move begins a great new chapter in my career and one in which my clients and business partners will be served better than ever before.”

With Eastern Massachusetts retail banking locations in addition to commercial, asset-based lending, small business and private banking teams, Berkshire Bank has a number of strong ties in the Boston region, including being the community presenting sponsor of Boston Seasons at City Hall Plaza and serving as the Official Bank of NESN’s Boston Bruins coverage. In addition, Boston Business Journal named Berkshire Bank one of Massachusetts Most Charitable Companies in 2016.

Regional Vice President Kevin Gillis is very excited to continue to build the presence of First Choice Loan Services team in the New England region with the addition of Bernard.

“Maureen is an award-winning loan originator for her excellence in customer service. This attention to the unique needs of each client in addition to her outstanding knowledge of today’s home loan programs make her an incredible addition to our team,” said Gillis. “She’s had a remarkably strong career, and we look forward to supporting her success as she continues to help homebuyers in the New England area on their exciting journey home.”

Bernard is actively involved in many philanthropic projects during her free time, including work with the Mission of Deeds in Reading, Massachusetts, the Salvation Army, youth athletic programs and student/parent education advisory committees and many other events in the surrounding communities.
